SNSF’s thrust on skilling is aimed at empowering the youth with tools to earn their livelihood.  This pursuit has resulted in focused programs, in partnership with leading industry players.  The industry focus of these training programs is strengthened by the fact that 70% of the course is practical technical training with 30% of the time being spent on classroom based training. To make them industry ready, the students also receive training in basic computers, soft skills, financial literacy and functional English. Such inputs help transition the often directionless youth into young professional.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSIL), Federal Mogul and TVS Motor Company have collaborated with SNSF for the 2 Wheeler Auto Technician Courses. Started in 2012 at Gurugram & in 2017 at Talegaon, SNSF has so far trained over 800 youth as 2 wheeler auto technicians.  Almost 80% of the graduates of these courses have been placed with authorized service stations of 2 wheeler auto manufacturers such as Honda, TVS, Bajaj, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Yamaha and KTM. Starting with a monthly salary of Rs 6500 as service technicians, SNSF trainees have made their way up to customer relations executives and service managers drawing a handsome five figure monthly salary of 30K.

The Foundation has also launched an Electrician Certification Program in association with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and Schneider Electric India Foundation (SEIF). The one – year course, one of the oldest of the Foundation’s course, made a beginning at the SNSF Parwanoo Centre in 1995 and is certified by NIOS. In August 2012, with technical support and certification of SEIF, a 3 months course for electrician training was started at the Gurugram Centre. Several of the 1700 graduates of these courses have opted for self-employment or have found jobs in maintenance departments of industries, hotels and gated housing societies. Lemon Tree Hotels, Tricolite Industries, Vatika Builders, Weltech are some of the reputed employers for this trade.

The newest addition in this bouquet of training programs is the Kohler India supported Plumbing training course at SNSF Gurugram. Started in July 2015 it is certified by International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) and Indian Plumbing Association (IPA). Over 130 youth have undergone the two month course at the Kohler Plumbing Academy or KPA housed in SNSF’s Gurugam Centre. Kohler India’s deep commitment to this initiative is symbolized by the regular visits of their senior management to the centre and the recruitment of KPA graduates.  Other employers include Lemon Tree Hotels, Vatika Builders, Jaquar, Weltech, Larsen & Toubro, LIVSPACE, SARE Homes and others.

SNSF also offers a fourth training option to the motivated youth – that of dual certification as plumber and electrician. The certification is awarded by IAMPO & IPA and SEIF. Started in 2016, till date close to 80 youth have graduated with the dual certification.
