DRDA, the district level organization representing Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), GoI, oversees project Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) of the Government. Over a seven year period (2005-13), SNSF Nasik reached out to 172 villages forming 240 SHGs in Peth and 100 in Trimbakeshwar tribal blocks.

These groups were trained in undertaking entrepreneurial activities in poultry, goat and rabbit rearing, food processing (from Nagli – finger millet grains), management of fair price shops & other food outlets and incense & candle making.  Managing government contracts of supplying cooked food to tribal residential schools and ‘aaganwadis’ (day care centres for pregnant and lactating mothers and pre-schoolers) is a popular enterprise amongst as many as 100 of the 340 groups. Many of these enterprises, located on the famous pilgrimage route of Trimbakeshwar, sell offerings for the deity.
