Graduation Ceremony of the First Batch of Students of the Two-Wheeler Technician Training Programme in Uttarakhand

ANAND’s rehabilitative efforts in the aftermath of the Uttarakhand floods involved skilling and placing 50 youth from the flood-affected areas. SNS Foundation led these efforts with companies across the Group contributing. In the first batch, nine youth were trained in the Honda Motors-certified two-wheeler technician course over a period of two months starting 22nd April. SNS Foundation implemented this initiative in partnership with the CII Foundation, Dehradun and Uttarakhand Skills Development Society. The nine students received certificates from Mr. G.V. Joshi (Senior Manager – Customer Services Department, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India) at the graduation ceremony on 25th June. Facilitated by CII, six students received job offers at Ess Ell Honda (Dehradun), a Honda dealership. Workshop manager, Mr. Gagan Gauri hand over the offer letters to the students. The students then shared their experiences during the two-month training period, presented a local folk song and staged a skit on the importance of speaking English. Representatives of all stakeholders – ANAND, CII, Uttarakhand Skills Development Society, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India and Ess Ell Honda were present during the event.
