SNS Foundation Engaged with Government Schools in Dewas

SNS Foundation, in collaboration with Gabriel India, engaged with five government schools in Dewas region. Of these, three were primary schools one was a middle school and another, senior secondary. ~600 children aged between five and 17 studied in these five schools, located in the Siya village. SNS Foundation in partnership with the Dewas district administration facilitated an infrastructural overhaul of the aforementioned schools, including the construction of two classrooms. On 7th May, Mr. Deepak Joshi, the erstwhile Minister of Education and Skill Development, Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated the newly-developed facilities during a ceremony that was attended by Mr. Jaganath Shenoy (Gabriel Dewas Plant Head and Hub Leader for Dewas) and the SNS Dewas team led by Ms. Ritu Vyas along with the school fraternity.

SNS Foundation Felicitated by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development

SNS Foundation was felicitated for its noteworthy contribution in the successfully implementation of various programmes of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development that have impacted >10,000 lives across 220 villages of Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. The recognition was conferred during an event that marked the 36th Foundation Day of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.

SNS Foundation Recognised as ‘Best NGO in Kalghatgi Block’

As a part of the CSR initiatives of Dana Anand India, SNS Foundation has been working in Jodahalli helping educate and skill the rural populace as well as bring about infrastructural development in the area. Over the past three years, 100 girls and 20 women have become self-employed after being trained in garment-making. 115 youth have joined the country’s workforce after being trained in factory operations and maintenance. >1000 students and >40 teachers have gained access to hygienic sanitation facilities across six schools of Kalghatgi block in the Dharwad district of Karnataka. Furthermore, 2.000 square feet of classroom space (accessed by 200 students annually) have been added across three schools of the aforementioned block. In recognition of the efforts of the SNS Foundation’s Jodahalli team, the Government Teachers’ Association of Kalghatgi block recognised it as the Best NGO in the block. Ms. Uma Hampanavar, Head of SNSF’s Jodahalli operations was felicitated by Mr. Santosh Lad, MLA, Kalghatgi block and the Minister of Information and Infrastructure in the Karnataka State Government on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

SNS Foundation offers soft skills training sessions for >250 students as Dale Carnegie Training’s Partner

SNS Foundation, as a NGO partner to Dale Carnegie Training, offered soft skills training sessions to bolster self-confidence, help manage stress and improve communication skills of >250 students of education and skill development programmes at Hosur, Talegaon, Sohna and Gurugram.

Inauguration of GABRIEL NUTAN TVS Community Centre

SNS Foundation in partnership with TVS Motor Company, Nutan Maharashtra Vidya Prasarak Mandal and Gabriel India inaugurated the Gabriel-Nutan-TVS Community College’s two-wheeler technician and sales personnel training centre at the Nutan Maharashtra Vidya Polytechnic premises in Talegaon. The yearlong training programme was divided into two phases – three months of classroom training followed by nine months on-the-job training of 9 months at a TVS dealership. During the second phase, trainees were provided with a stipend by the dealership.

Visit of Senior Manager from Kohler Global HR Team at Kohler Plumbing Academy

Ms. Johanna Beckmann (Senior Manager – Global HR, Kohler Corporation, USA) visited SNS Foundation, Gurugram to interact with students of the Kohler Plumbing Academy, a collaborative initiative of Kohler India, SNS Foundation and Henkel Anand India, as a part of its CSR efforts. Ms. Beckmann congratulated the SNS Foundation team for training 200 plumbers in two years. She also felicitated the topper of the most recent batch with a certificate and reimbursed the course fees which he had paid.

Government school in Siya village, MadhyaPradesh visited by Minister of State for Education and Skill Development

Mr Deepak Joshi, Minister of State for Education and Skill Development, Madhya Pradesh, paid his third visit to the government school in Siya village, which is supported by the SNS Foundation and a number of ANAND Group companies. Mr. Joshi first visited the school in May 2017 to unveil infrastructural additions in the premises, courtesy financial contributions from Gabriel, in addition to the governmental funding. His second visit was on the occasion of Independence Day 2017, when he launched the skill development facilities being provided by the SNS Foundation at the school. On his third and most recent visit, the Minister awarded sponsorship to the school for better sanitation facilities. He also presented individual sponsorships to scholarship awardees of the SNS Foundation pursuing diploma in mechanical engineering at the Government Polytechnic, Dewas, so as to finance their daily commuting expenses.
