In partnership with SNS Foundation, Henkel ANAND India has been running a skill development course for the healthcare sector at Parwanoo. The course is aligned with the National Skill Development Council and aims to train youth to assist nurses. To enhance the quality of training, two batches of students visited Shivalik Solid Waste Management Ltd. in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on an educational tour to gain practical knowledge on the household, bio-medical and hazardous waste treatment processes and disposal.

International Women’s Day Celebrations
DEWAS: The Rural Mart of Tejaswini Mahila Bahu Prayojan Sahkari Samiti was declared the Best Rural Mart in Madhya Pradesh by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Representative members of the cooperative society were felicitated by Padma Shri awardee Ms. Durga Vyam. SNS Foundation’s Dewas unit, along with Gabriel India, earlier assisted in forming the cooperative body and provided the necessary capacity building for managing the mart. Located in the main market of Dewas city, the mart offers essential market linkages for the sale of products prepared by the cooperative society members, such as handicrafts, soft furnishings, cosmetic jewellery etc.
PARWANOO: A self-defence workshop was organised on International Women’s Day to empower the women workforce to overcome and handle unsafe situations through self-defence skills. A total of 31 female staff, including female health workers, teachers and vocational instructors attended this workshop. A martial arts expert conducted the session on behalf of the SNS Foundation.
SATARA: A 70-member team of several women self-help groups (SHGs) at Chalkewadi village came forward for voluntary labour (shramdaan) for the village. The women performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the watershed development work and assisted in the digging of the water harvesting structure. Apart from this, for the professional development of the SHG members, a spice-making and legal rights workshop was also organised.
JODHALLI: Self-help group (SHG) members who manage a milk collection centre for Karnataka Milk Federation in Devlingikoppa village with the assistance of the SNS Foundation since 2018, got together on International Women’s Day. On this occasion, a session on women’s health and gender equality was organised with Aaganwadi and ASHA workers. In another programme, in Neerasagar village, 41 SHG members of one of SNS Foundation’s projects in Neerasagar village participated in a cooking competition.
Mando Automotive India and SNS Foundation donates oxygen plant
Further strengthening the COVID infrastructure, Mando Automotive India and the SNS Foundation have built an oxygen plant in Government hospital in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. The oxygen plant was formally handed over in the presence of local officials and was inaugurated by the Kancheepuram district administrator. The production facility will produce 250 litres of oxygen per minute with 94.5% purity.
SNS Foundation and MAHLE ANAND Filter Systems observe ‘International Migrants Day’
SNS Foundation, the CSR arm of the ANAND Group, along with MAHLE ANAND Filter Systems, commemorated the ‘International Migrants Day’ at Parwanoo by organising a cricket match. The contesting teams comprised the migrant workforce engaged in industrial units of Parwanoo, Baddi, Barotiwala, and truck drivers plying in the region. The Foundation has been promoting the health and well-being of migrants focusing on HIV/AIDS, Reproductive and Child Health. SNS Foundation is also engaged with the Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (HPSACS) to spread awareness and promote testing of the disease among the migrant population.
World AIDS Day at Parwanoo
On the occasion of World AIDS Day, SNS Foundation’s Parwanoo unit organised a rally in the industrial township to spread awareness about AIDS. The rally was in sync with the 2021 theme: ‘End Inequalities, End AIDS’. SNS Foundation has been consistently working for the betterment of high-risk groups of migrant workers and transport sector workers who are vulnerable to HIV infection owing to their lifestyle and profession. SNS Foundation at Parwanoo has been functioning as an implementation partner of the Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society for over a decade.
Awareness Session on HIV/AIDS for Industrial Workforce Organised at Parwanoo
In partnership with Parwanoo Industrial Association, SNS Foundation organised an awareness session on HIV/AIDS for employees from nearby industries. The event was organised in consultation with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), District Solan. Dr. Mukta Rastogi, CMO, Solan, conducted the session, which is part of the Foundation’s ongoing interventions on HIV/AIDS in partnership with Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society, and targets two vulnerable groups – migrant workers and truck drivers.
General Duty Assistant (Para-Nursing) Training Course Inaugurated at Parwanoo
SNS Foundation (SNSF) has done two decades of work by providing health services within Himachal Pradesh in partnership with the government. The need for trained healthcare professionals increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To support this demand, SNSF’s Parwanoo unit, under Henkel ANAND India CSR, recently inaugurated a new skilling course called General Duty Assistant. The course falls under the National Skill Development Corporation’s Healthcare Sector Skill Council and will be of a six months’ duration. Both male and female youth will be trained as assistants to nurses. Mrs. Nisha Sharma, President, Municipal Committee, Parwanoo, was the chief guest, and Dr. Kapil, Senior Medical Officer, ESI Hospital, Parwanoo, was the Guest of Honour. For the practical training component of the course, SNSF has tied up with the ESI Hospital.
Supporting the workforce for higher learning opportunities
Mando Automotive India supports its Operating Engineers (OEs) under the Higher Education Opportunity for Professional Engineers (HOPE) programme to enhance technical knowledge and upskill the talent pool. In the latest graduation ceremony for OEs held last month at the designated learning centre, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology, the leadership team from Mando Automotive India, was present to grace the occasion. Mr. Mahendra K. Goyal, Co-Chief Operating Officer, ANAND Group, was the chief guest at the ceremony. Mr. Jae Young Choi, Managing Director, and Mr. S. Sarathi, Joint Managing Director, Mando Automotive India, were also present.
Shop floor OE training and development programme at Dana Anand India
The training session was held with focus on basic safety awareness, unsafe acts and conditions to enable OEs to create a safe working environment. The programme also motivated OEs to continuously improve and upgrade their working practices and efficiency.

Dana Anand India, Distribution Centre, Hosur, is the proud supplier of customised 2045 Drive Shafts and SPL55 Shafts (driving water pump from PTO Unit) for the fire trucks of the Kerala Fire & Rescue Services. They have received a further order for 200 shafts.
