Basant Panchami

Basant Panchami is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 22nd January 2018 in Anand School Parwanoo. The children of the pre-primary sections came dressed in yellow clothes, and rest of the children; girls tied yellow ribbons in their hair and boys wore yellow scarf to school. All the children brought yellow colored food in their tiffin. Even the teachers came dressed in yellow suits and sarees.

A special assembly was held on this day. The whole school assembled together to pray and attain blessings from Goddess Saraswati to reach the epitome of knowledge. The pooja started with a beautiful Saraswati vandana and after that halwa prasad was distributed amongst the children. The children enjoyed the day enlightened by the blessings of Maa Saraswati.

The Yellow Day Celebration

Every color has its own importance. To recapitulate and reinforce the color, Anand School celebrates each color day as a part of the co-curricular lesson plan for junior kids. This Basant Panchami, the kids of Class Nursery and KGs celebrated Yellow Day. They came to school dressed in yellow attires. They brought yellow fruits and vegetables such as bananas, potatoes, pineapples etc for lunch. A garden with paper kites and balloons was also set up at the entrance of their classes. Focusing on the theme, the teachers also had planned the art activity. The children enjoyed painting and carrying it home. All the little learners enjoyed the day and learned a lot through this color day.

Close to Nature – Tree Plantation

Planting trees connects children with nature and shows them that their hard work makes a difference in the world. Trees are a small environmental investment that will pay dividends for decades to come. Our nursery kids took an active role by teaming with their teachers to plant trees in their school premises.
