MoU signed with Dana Corporation, the US, for piston rings
Encouraged by the success of the gasket business and acquisition of Victor Gaskets Company USA, in 1968 by Dana Corporation, Mr. Anand started negotiations for adding a piston ring production line, the Group’s first attempt into the realm of cutting-edge technology. This was the largest equity investment and capital outlay that was ventured into by ANAND, till then. The piston ring project was inaugurated in 1976 by Mr. Rene McPherson, the then Chairman of Dana Corporation, who flew in along with his top management team.
The joint venture blossomed into a profitable business due to Dana’s wholehearted support to this project, posting one of the best results among the entities operating under the company’s aegis, globally.
