ANAND made inroads into 18 countries, including its collaborators for shock absorbers and piston rings. Exports started in 1968 and were limited to the Philippines, Iran and Sri Lanka. In order to institutionalise exports, 30% of the exports were made a part of the corporate philosophy and a top-down commitment began to drive this goal. Emanating from a simple belief that customers can be found if you have a good product, Mr. Anand set about building world-class facilities at competitive costs.
