Valeo Friction Materials India Private Limited (VFMI) is a joint venture between the ANAND Group and the Valeo Group, France. Established in 1997 and based in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, VFMI manufactures environmentally friendly G5 clutch facings using a unique water-based process. Free from asbestos, lead, solvents, aramid and ceramic fibres, its products meet stringent European standards and support cleaner, more sustainable mobility. As a technology-driven organisation, Valeo develops innovative solutions that enhance driving comfort, improve vehicle efficiency and contribute to lower emissions.

Advancing Quality Education

VFMI supports the development of safe, inclusive and high-quality learning environments through investments in school infrastructure and educational facilities. By strengthening educational institutions and improving access to learning resources, the company helps create opportunities for students to thrive and realise their full potential.

Projects have included the redevelopment and expansion of school infrastructure, the construction of classrooms and laboratories, and the creation of modern facilities that support teaching and learning.

Impact

  • Government-aided primary school at Kizhachalai transformed through the construction of a new 3,200 sq. ft. school building with classrooms, audiovisual learning facilities, sanitation infrastructure and safety improvements
  • Infrastructure expansion supported at C.S.I. Higher Secondary School, benefiting 801
    students
  • Government High School, Karunilam, upgraded with new educational infrastructure,
    benefiting 188 students
  • Enhanced learning environments contributing to improved enrolment, retention and student engagement

Promoting Community Health and Well-Being

VFMI supports initiatives that improve access to healthcare services and promote community well-being. Through health camps, healthcare infrastructure support and community outreach programmes, the company contributes to improving health outcomes among underserved populations.

The company also extended support to healthcare institutions and vulnerable communities during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
